Clearwater Bridge Run

This location has it all. You’ll feel like the luckiest runner in the world to have this venue right in your backyard. It’s a great hill-training workout.

Hours: Accessible 24/7

Run Tampa meets at 7:00, and the run is over at 9:00; however, many will finish much sooner, as the run is unstructured, in that, while we have a set route (wee map), people do various distances.

Where: Run Tampa meets at 112 S. Osceola Avenue. This lot is just east of Coachman Park and very close to the causeway.

Parking: Park at 112 S. Osceola. Free public lot.

Route: Any distance possible. Clearwater Causeway is separated from traffic by a concrete wall. Continue another mile on an asphalt trail, to roundabout where highway meets the beach. First Run Tampa water drop is there, adjacent to the marina with restroom. From there, cross over to the beach side at crosswalk and run on the sidewalk to the base of Sand Key Bridge, location of second water drop. That’s 3.5 miles. Option to continue over Sand Key Bridge. On the other side is Sand Key Park (restrooms/water) one-mile loop within the park. That run, round trip, 10 miles. For more miles, continue south on Gulf Blvd. For epic 16 to 18-miler, continue on to Belleair Bridge, cross over that and return.

Restrooms: At the marina, adjacent to roundabout, 2.5 mi from start, along the beach sidewalk, 3 mi from start, at Sand Key Park, 5 mi from start.

Water: Fountains at base of Clearwater Memorial Causeway, next to the sidewalk adjacent to the marina and roundabout, next to the restrooms at Clearwater Beach, and at Sand Key Park. For Run Tampa group runs, we put out water next to the roundabout and also at the base of Sand Key Bridge.

Breakfast: Emily’s Restaurant, 101 S. Garden Avenue, only .25 mi from where we park.
