Downtown Tampa Riverwalk

The Riverwalk traces the downtown Tampa waterfront, from Ulele Restaurant on the north end, south and then east to the area known as Sparkman Wharf/Channelside, about three miles, total. Then, it’s lovely to add a trip over to Harbour Island and back along the waterfront. That adds a half mile. Plenty of options. This is especially beautiful in the evening or early morning.

Two times when Run Tampa runs on the Riverwalk: Every week, as part of the Sunday morning run, and every Wednesday evening (except in June/July/August), also leaving from Hyde Park Village.

Where: Besides those two group Run Tampa group runs, mentioned above, there are many locations to start to run on the Riverwalk. A good place to start is from Curtis Hixon Park, as there is plenty of parking nearby, Poe Garage (800 N. Ashley Drive), and there are public restrooms at the park. Plenty of parking at Ft. Brooke Garage, (107 N. Franklin Street), the South Regional Garage 301 Channelside Drive, and Garrison lot next to Sparkman Wharf.

Hours: The Riverwalk is always open, but check hours for the garages.

Restrooms: Restrooms at Waterworks Park neat the north terminus, at Curtis Hixon Park, at the Sail Pavilion, at Cottanchobee Park, and at Sparkman Wharf. However, these restrooms normally don’t open until 8 a.m.; so, they’re not helpful for your morning run.

Water: Fountains at the locations of the restrooms above.
