Bruce B Downs entrance:
18205 Bruce B Downs Blvd. This is not the main entrance, but most people access the park from BBD. From Tampa, take I-75 to the Bruce B Downs Blvd, Exit 270, then north 2 minutes to park entrance on right. Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (in summer) $2 park fee. There is a paved asphalt trail and many miles of off-road single track as well. From this trail head, take the entrance leg of the trail from the parking lot 2 miles to where it intersects the 7-mile loop.
Morris Bridge Road entrance:
14302 Morris Bridge Rd. This is the main entrance. From Tampa, take I-75 north to the East Fletcher/Morris Bridge Rd., Exit 266. Take Morris Bridge Rd to the park entrance on your left, about 5.2 miles. You will pass Morris Bridge Park. That is not the place. Keep going. You’ll go over the river. Keep going. There is a small sign on the right directing you to the park on the left, but it’s not very obvious. From this entrance, it is about .75 miles to the 7-mile loop. $2 park fee. This is a relatively small park very close to MacDill AFB in South Tampa. It has a paved asphalt trail. A few local races are hosted there each year.
HIF (Hole in the Fence)
The entrance to HIF is opposite the entrance to Trout Creek Park. It’s one of the Wilderness Parks, connecting via the Main to Flatwoods and Trout Creek, forming a 14 mile single-track loop. HIF has many other trails as well, Gatorbait, Grandpa, Piglet and others.
Hyde Park Village
This is simply the place where two of Run Tampa’s weekly group runs start. On Sunday morning, we run from the courtyard at Hyde Park Village down Rome Avenue to Bayshore. Then we run west on the sidewalk, and everyone goes as far as they want before turning around. We always have a water drop at the 2-mile mark. Breakfast after at the Goody Goody Restaurant.
On Monday evening, we run from the courtyard at Hyde Park Village, on Swann Avenue, to the Bayshore, and then to the downtown Riverwalk via the Platt Street Bridge, then north to Ulele Restaurant, which is 3 miles from the start. Some people turn around at Hixon Park or Water Works Park for shorter distance. Dinner after at Goody Goody at Hyde Park Village.

The Wilderness Parks are actually five parks (Trout Creek, HIF, Flatwoods, Morris Bridge Park) that are connected by an off road single-track trail that runs through the parks and ends up being about 14 miles; however, you can add many side trails in Flatwoods or HIF, along the way to make it more like 20 miles, or even more.
