Leadership Team Position: Secretary/Merchandise Manager
Run Tampa Member Since: I’ve being involved with Run Tampa since the first group run, in 2010, at Al Lopez Park. I became a club member in March, 2012.
Runner Since: I started running around 1997/98, just for fun and because it was free exercise.
Q: What is your favorite race distance?
A: Half marathon – challenging enough with less injury.
Q: What is your favorite race that you have run?
A: New York Marathon – Running NY was my goal since I moved from there in 2002. I love the city; it has a special place in my heart.
Q: What is your favorite piece of running apparel/running accessory?
A: My favorite piece is my watch/Garmin – It keeps me on pace and alerts me when my hubby texts “good morning” when he’s up and I’m running… Awe!
Q: What is your most embarrassing running memory?
A: I’m too embarrassed to say it, but starts with the letter “P”… At mile 6 on a half marathon. When I met with a friend of mine at the finish line, her comment was “OMG, Runners stink”
Q: What is your favorite recovery meal?
A: Breakfast!!! Eggs, avocado and banana
Q: You know you’re a runner when _______.
A: You don’t mind getting up at 4ish am to get your run in; otherwise you won’t have time on a busy day.
Q: What ice cream flavor represents your personality?
A: Chocolate. It’s dark in color like me. It could be sweet and bold too!
Q: What would you name your fictional country that you are president of?
Q: What would you name your hot sauce?
A: “ES-PICY” – Read it as I would say it!
Q: Would you rather be the fifth teenage mutant ninja turtle or the sixth member of *NSYNC?
A: I would rather be the fifth and not the sixth – although I would love to dance with and like Justin Timberlake.
Q: If you were on American Idol, what song would you sing?
A: That is one thing I don’t do well and I’m too shy to sing! If I’d have to pick one, it would probably be in Spanish, I will know all the words at least.
Q: What is your favorite Run Tampa memory?
A: Running Gasparilla and see/hear so many friends cheering my name… Very motivating and it made me feel at home!
