There are newsletters, and then there are newsletters. We all get them. Many are just a bunch of ads, but some are AMAZING because of the number of photos, variety of articles, pleasing graphic design, and helpful running information. The Take the First Step Running Club newsletter is just such a publication.
This newsletter contains 32 photos and 13 articles. Yes, it's packed with worthwhile information, not recaps of articles from other publications but rather all original articles by a wide variety of local runners. Get racing tips, advice from club president and coach Lynn Gray, and view photos of races and competitors. Find out what's coming and what happened.
This issue features an article about Frank Spicer; he just finished running 50 marathons in 50 states before his 60th birthday, and and "Where in the World is Velma" about Velma Radloff, a Tampa resident and marathon runner who, after retiring last year, took off with husband Jack to travel around the country, visiting friends, skiing, running, and in all ways spending their time doing the things that matter most. Steve Coman, a newer runner, recaps his running adventures in the "Member Spotlight," and Dana Felice shares her tips for runner survival on a budget with her article about essential running items you can buy at your local pharmacy.
